Coffee and cake and pans.

We knew we had gained weight over the week, fish and chips, cake, and extra bread, so didn't need anyone to tell us. So instead of going to SW we went to Costa for coffee and a lush chocolate brownie. Very naughty!
We hadn't been out for coffee since some time in the middle of February, so we thought we deserved it and the cake! We sat there in the warm talking Welsh to each other. Probably not all correct but its all practice and we're good with weather words.
Mae 'r tywydd yn wyntog heddiw a oer.
There's a FB page where learners write sentences and people answer and it doesn't matter if you make a mistake, just have a go!

Afterwards we went to buy some new omlette pans, as Dh does all the cooking, he chose them, although I insisted they had to be a good quality make. You know the saying...'Buy cheap and you buy twice!'

I don't know what your weather is like, but ours is cold with a bitter NE wind..and my ear ache was telling me 'ouch' this morning, so I had on a scarf to keep me from getting cold. I hate getting cold! Brrrrr.. guess some people living in Canada have snow this time of year, I don't think I'd like that. But in countries like that you wear the proper clothes. There was a man in Costa in shorts! I was wearing a strappy top and waist slip, (knicks of course) under a dress that is wool, big wooly cardi, fleece, scarf, wooly long socks and my pretty wool gloves!

Have you been able to guess my Welsh sentence?

Oh yes! Almost all of Canada is covered with snow, only we who are fortunate to live near the west coast have green grass and I saw daffodils blooming in the park when we were walking.
Sorry about your ear ache. Hope that gets better soon.

We all need a little treat now and then and cake is as good a treat as any!

You don't need anyone telling you the obvious so you were right to avoid that and treat yourselves. I can't remember the last time I did anything like that - well before 2019, anyway.

Tut tut - don't blame you in the slightest!!!

It felt cold here yesterday too - there was a chilly wind. It's lovely and sunny here today though. xx

The cold wind made my face smart yesterday, the only bit of skin exposed under my woolly hat and the fleece lined hood. It was a brisk walk once round the park, keeping to the paths because the grass is squelchy, but I noticed that the hawthorn hedge was looking more green than brown.

I know your sentence, "The weather today is windy and cold". Good to hear you are learning Welsh. I speak Welsh and English, but don't get any chance to speak Welsh these days, when I come home to Wales I love to hear the accent. Helen S.

Winter clothes in eastern Canada are around until April, at least! The bay has lost the ice again though!

Your coffee nd cake treat sounds lovely!

It's warmed up to -2C in my part of Canada and the snow is melting. I hesitate to say winter is over because it's snowed in May in living memory.

It's common to see men in shorts in the snow when it's -10 here.

Gotta work on that winter tan.

As the Scandanavians are fond of telling us, "There's no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing choices"! I have recently discarded my super warm winter coat for a lighter jacket but still have my gloves and hat handy.

It's hard to be on a diet all the time, isn't it?

I understood the Welsh sentence! It's Mother's Day today so I had a hazelnut and chocolate croissant for breakfast and chocolate biscuits for lunch! After a not bad eating week I think, but I will still avoid the scale this week.

I guess it's something to do with wet and windy weather. I haven't cheated and checked first :-)
