Shocked and sad.

Although we live in a small cul de sac it can have its noisy times! Our next door neighbours have parties, not every week.. We can hear them but it doesn't bother us, we sleep through the singing and shouting! I think its because the sound travels at night? We are a long way from them, as we are all detached. Dh complains its not decent music, because its not his choice.. this is a man who disliked a certain supermarket, because of the music they played. I didn't even notice the music!

Saturday night it was particularly loud, we think it was the eldest daughter's 18th. They were all outside. We just laugh because its the loudest in the bathroom. I won't repeat Dh's rude comment about being in there and letting rip with the singing!!

We can't hear it in our lounge and nor can we in the bedroom with the  windows closed.

Greg the neighbour and his wife are very nice and have often offered help if we need anything doing any time. He and another neighbour cleared the gutters of weedy growth and swept the whole road this summer as the council hadn't. He comes with a bottle of wine and mince pies at Christmas time.  So we're happy with them as neighbours.. so imagine our horror to see yesterday someone had painted the 'C' word on their outside white wall. Who would do that, what horrible person, I can't even guess.. so Greg was out there painting over it as it wouldn't wash off.

We were shocked and sadden to think that could happen here.

I guess all the neighbours aren't as nice and tolerant as you are. Good thing Greg had some paint handy.

How horrid. Perhaps it wasn't a neighbour, but somebody connected with (or not invited to) the party?

What a world we live in! People just don't have any tolerance these days.

How sad! I imagine it has made them suspicious of neighbours now.

People can be so disgusting. That is awful they even thought to paint the slur on these folks home.

I hope that is the only incident that happens in your neighborhood. So sad.

Sounds like the act of a young person, perhaps a jealous girl who knows the daughter and thinks she made a play for 'her' guy.

That's awful. Why do people have to be that way?

I'm sorry that your neighbor was subjected to show of hatred.

That's awful, although it might not have been another neighbour, that's such a horrid word, I cringe if I even read it! Good job it painted over.

How nasty. I agree with the others who say it was a young person who did that. A young man angry at the girl, or a jealous girl. I think the parents might want to have a talk with their daughter about her choice of acquaintances.
