The latest venture by Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, is Strawberry jam, the label reads America Riviera Orchard displayed in a basket of lemons.
I'm perplexed as to why its strawberry jam, to me strawberry jam is essentially English, or should I say British as I'm Welsh. Just seems a strange thing to do. Is she trying to impress someone?
Why did people think she and Catherine would be bosom friends. Its not as though they were seven year olds, who met and asked,' 'Would you like to be my friend?'
They were grown women with established lives, Catherine already the wife of the future King and the mother of another.
While Meghan was a professional actor, and a person in her own right. So why oh why was it thought they'd be best friends?
I'm very much in awe of Catherine, she is beautiful, gracious and at this moment in time fighting a horrible disease. And the King has an obvious affection for her, giving her a peck on the cheek, when they've met in public view.
So America Riviera Strawberry Jam can go west as far as I'm concerned and stay there!

Would I buy it? No. The fact that she's numbered each jar in an attempt to make it seem exclusive and limited edition just screams pretentiousness to me. And I expect she'll sell it at some extortionate price. When all's said and done, it's just strawberry jam - which anyone could make.
It's jam, preserves or whatever you want to call it. I bet it costs the earth too. So, no - but as a gift, I would appreciate it. xx

It's probably very nice jam, and she's obviously trying to imply she's taken to Britishness completely, but once again she selling the name she married into for money ... and I bet it's the most expensive jam ever!!.
And I thought they had promised the late Queen they wouldn’t try to cash in on their Royal status!
This American wouldn't buy it either. I'm not a fan of hers. I feel like she's sold out in so many ways.

So, you know we do have strawberries in the US, right? And quite frequently we make jam with them.

Numbering a jar of food stuffs? That's nutty or fruity, lol.
Some just like to find a way into "extra" limelight, I guess.
Catherine shines on her own and needs no lime or lemon light.

Somehow I can't see her standing in her kitchen cooking it up herself, can you? I think I will stick with my own home-made stuff.
This part of the American market isn't especially interested. I like strawberry jam, but don't need to spend an extra amount for bespoke jam. Some marketing group must have thought it was a good idea.
Well, it isn't being received very well here in the US. I think she is grasping at straws!
There is nothing on the label to say it's strawberry. The label doesn't fit the jar. Are lemons used in the jam?
It would be a hard pass from me. For a woman who claims to be someone with a keen eye for details, she slipped up here big time.
Yet more pretentious overpriced nonsense from a Z-list actress who got lucky bagging a dumbo hooray Henry. Is there anyone in his or her immediate circle that she has not fallen out with?

I couldn't agree with you more on what you said, they must be having a good laugh at the Palace about this latest adventure! Catherine was born for the role of Queen, you can just tell when her and William are together what a special bond they have.
She probably has a marketing team to promote her products. I have just bought a jar of pineapple jam. It was expensive and I never usually by jam because of it's sugar content. My jam is locally made so I am supporting a small UK business. And I haven't seen pineapple jam before.
Thoughts.
The biggest producers of strawberries are China, USA and Egypt. The most favourite jam in the world is strawberry - nothing to do with Britishness. She was apparently a good actress that worked on one of the most popular series picked up by Netflix this year. She has always, on her previous blog The Tig, talked about cooking, flower arranging, travel,etc. Not a new thing for her. Is there something wrong with trying to make a living, instead of living on hand outs from the RF like some do? They have been married for almost six years and have two children. They apparently do not want their kids pics splashed across the tabloids and criticised. Good for them. People should leave them alone. They did not want royal life - I wouldn’t either.
Would I buy it?
Short answer is no!
