Its been a whole year since we said good bye to our lovely Nell. She was such a cutie although she had her own mind!
We still miss her and although I wanted another dog, Dh said he couldn't cope with the loss of a dog again. Then suddenly about a couple of months ago he said, 'yes lets get another one.'
So we talked and talked about it. Here, this bungalow to get into the back garden you have to use the French doors in the lounge, so not good for a dog coming in from the garden on a pale silver green carpet, but we could cover it?... So we're still talking and lately we've noticed dogs in our favourite coffee shop, has become dog friendly!
This was on a FB page and could have been Nell!
We'll always remember you Nell.

A dog is a big commitment isn't it? Especially as we get a little older...We don't have any animals but have had all sort of pets when the kids were living at home. And then the ones they couldn't take with them :)
It’s so hard to lose a pet .. and the hesitation to get another one is quite understandable. But it’s lovely to hear that you are now considering welcoming another dog into your home.
She was a beautiful girl. We said no more dogs after the death of our two Springer Spaniels just over a year apart. Then after 5 years we adopted a Lhasa Apso, a puppy farm rescue aged a year and a half. So many more places are now dog friendly. Funny how, when thinking about something, you notice that thing (or dogs) everywhere.
What a lovely dog she was. xx
They leave such a hole when they go. We have missed and mourned all our pets - they are never forgotten.
It's a lot to think about, isn't it? Nell was adorable!
We will never stop missing our fur baby angels. If you finally do decide for a new fur baby, I know you will love it to pieces, just be sure to put the pieces back together after every hug, lol. Nell looked to be a cuddle pup.
She was a cute one.
It is hard to lose a pet. We missed the previous grand-dog as much as if she was ours. You have some good memories!
After having cats for 40 years, our last one died in January. The house is very quiet without any pets around, but I'm allergic to cats, so we won't get another. Good luck with your decision. It's a hard one to make.
What a beautiful dog! Have you ever considered fostering? The upside is that the shelter usually covers food and vet bills. The downside is that at some point the dog will go to their forever home...but then you can get another one.
Nell was such a sweet dog and I can't believe a year has gone by without her. A tough decision about having another dog but I know you will make the right one for you both x
