The one thing I can honestly say about my Darling Husband (Dh) he always over burdens us! We're up to our eyes trying to get the bungalow straight (clean) for the Easter weekend. Its not because we are having visitors, but we (I) do like the place to be tidy and clean.
So what are we doing?? Making our own buns! And so everything stopped to make them.
We're using this recipe and made them the shape of Chelsea buns.. They look wow and smell delicious. The kitchen is awash with flour and the odd raisin on the floor (We need a dog to keep the floor clean!)
But we have a problem we have SW tomorrow morning, so can't have any till we've been weighed!
Every thing else has been left to make these buns and now we have to wait till late tomorrow morning.
When I was young living here I was sent off to Comleys, the bakers on Good Friday for Hot Cross buns. They were always warm in the brown paper bag and I used to run home as fast as I could and we all had one each thickly spread with butter. Me, my Grandmother and my two aunts! A real treat and we always had lamb for Sunday dinner, after Chapel of course.

They look delicious. We had hot cross buns for lunch today, heated in the oven with butter melting into them. Yum. Enjoy your Easter weekend 😀
They look so tasty.
Wow! They look great! Great memory too! Enjoy. Happy Easter!
Those look delicious. I'm impressed with your baking skills.
It was a lovely memory and a lot of fun in the kitchen, even though it was a bit chaotic! The aroma of the buns must be delightful, and I am confident that the anticipation will enhance their flavor. It's those little traditions that really make holidays special. Hope the buns are as delicious as they look! www.melodyjacob.com
They look delicious! I would have a hard time waiting to eat them!
I'm thinking I can get a good whiff of how wonderful they smell all the way over here. Hope you have a good SW weigh in and a lovely Easter.
They look good.
Happy Easter Wishes.
All the best Jan
It must have been hard to wait before eating. Love your memories.
Beautiful, Chris! I have never tried to make them.
We are all cleaned up here,, after a couple hard days at the beginning of the week. It looks so nice. I wish we were better at keeping it so.
Wishing you a beautiful Easter!
They do look wonderful! I'm sure they were delicious, too.
