A day in the Simple Womans Daybook

One Day in the Simple Woman's Daybook

Outside my window...Daffodils are in bud, . Dare I believe that spring has indeed arrived and cold weather will not return? It's raining today but something we needed.

I am thinking...about my planted seeds some of which have germinated and how the garden will look in the summer with all the flowers.

I am praying... for peace of mind as it looks like I will not be returning to my home town in Essex in the summer after all, as after 14months of no work at all, Mike has been offered work here. This is so hard for me as I was counting the weeks.

I am thankful for...a relaxing Saturday at home with Mike, real coffee in the conservatory and some stitching

From the kitchen.. Dried fruit soaking in cold tea to make a fat free tea loaf, one piece each with our afternoon cups of tea!

I am wearing...My grey fleck skirt and just my rose coloured jumper, a few weeks ago that would have been two jumpers.

I am creating..a new writing for Magpie Tales which is a box of nails! What will I write??? Haven't a clue.

I am going... to try to do better with blogging. And reply to the lovely comments I receive, so must try harder

I am reading...  Suite Francaise by Iréne Némirovsky...There is nothing that makes me quite so happy as a well-written, engaging novel on my bedside table to look forward to after a long day, but at the moment the book I am reading is for the U3A reading group and is a translation from the French and while it is quite a pleasant read I have had to back track as there were so many french family names I lost track of who was who, I am sure once I really get into it will be fine!

I am hoping...that I will get back into  losing weight again I seem to have lost the enthusiasm.

I am listening to...Radio 2 'Sounds of the 60s' Sounds from my youth!

Around the house... Everything is tidy and clean from my very good clean on Thursday, so a nice easy day.

One of my favourite things... My stitching..... and I have started my Rose Swalwel design which is 'Winter' and I have my next Round Robin piece which is Clare’s.. Mine has moved on to its next stitcher, so exciting.

A few plans for the rest of the week:  I am one of the Welcoming persons at church tomorrow so must be early. Hair trim on Tuesday and Nell for her yearly innoculations, Slimming Group on Wednesday, then on Thursday we have planned to go the Nec to the Hobby Craft exhibition which I am really looking forward to, Friday I have the Freedom in Christ course with my church group, so a fun filled week!!

Sounds like a wonderful week to me. Lots to keep the mind and hands busy.
I am sorry that you won't get to your home town this summer. It is hard when wishes get turned down.

Your fat free tea loaf sounds interesting!! Is there a link to the recipe?
I know what you mean about losing weight. I desperately need to but have no willpower at all! I am trying to make healthy choices but it's hard.
Too bad that you can't go to your hometown but I'm sure there was a reason you were chosen to stay there...

A busy week ahead for you, i hope you have a nice relaxing weekend and enjoy the tea loaf, sounds really nice.

Plans sometimes do not go as we would like, maybe there is a reason for this little hiccup in your life, only time will tell.

love and {hugs}

wish i could get in my conservatory as at the moment it is filled with clutter that has either to go to a new home or to the charity shop.

hope you have had a lovely day

This was a nice over-view of your life and moments. May some of the hard spots smooth out and seem okay in the end.

I had to pop in for a visit to this lovely blog after a creepy visit to the Writings one and its Magpie tales....Are you the inventor of those imaginative trips into horror?

Hi Chris
Thank you so much for commenting on and following my new start to blogging.
A busy, busy week ahead for you and a trip to the NEC on Thursday - lucky, lucky you - I went to Olympia yesterday and it was the busiest I have ever seen it and very hard work getting round - so if you don't get to Slimming Group on Wednesday, don't panic you'll use the energy up at the NEC - have fun!
