This is a funny look at our dreadful conditions of our roads. I dread walking when cars drive near because I don't want to be splashed.. Also getting out of the car when Dh hasn't noticed a pot hole, I am so pleased I wear ordinary black slip on shoes of a good make as they are waterproof.
But as a pedestrian I want the pavements sorted, I live in fear of tripping on the broken slabs and the broken blocks in the main street here. I've seen people, men and women trip and fall.
But I am grateful we're not flooded and we are so sympathetic for all those families, who have been.. there are parts of UK who have had 40 plus days of rain; more than Noah!

Yes, this did make me laugh ...
Although on a serious note there are way too many potholes, Councils really do need to sort them out.
It's been so rainy hasn't it many have had flooding and the poor farmers and their animals too.
Roll-on Spring.
All the best Jan
That is too funny! Our roads in Michigan in the US aren't great either.
Someone's gone to a lot of trouble!
Broken paving slabs are such a hazard, I do agree.
Looks like the road needs resurfacing. They're constantly upgrading roads here building roundabouts, shicanes and other traffic calmers to drive us nuts.
I badly sprained my ankle just by treading on a crumbling bit of road surrounding a pothole, which then gave way. I toppled slowly to one side and thought "At least I haven't hurt myself," but when I started to get up I realised that I was in trouble.
This made me laugh, very funny. We have some potholes too but not on our main road.
That's funny 😁 But there are way to many potholes in the roads, drivers have to zigzag to avoid them round here, if a bike hit one at night it could be very dangerous. Two roads on our estate are closed for 3 days next week for them to be fixed, hopefully they will do a proper job this time.
Winter time always brings out the worst of the potholes doesn't it. I drive to my grocery, and I usually have to zigzag around to make sure I don't hit the worst ones.
Humour often makes the point when grumbling doesn't.
Somehow I think I’d prefer snow.
Haha, that's funny. The roads are atrocious these days, even when the potholes get filled, they're not mended properly and are as bad again in no time at all. Then there's different utilities continually digging up the roads and pavements and not putting them back as they were. It's time they were all sorted out.
That's funny. Pot holes are definitely a problem this time of year. I hope repairs come sooner rather than later for you.
Thank you for making me smile seeing that photo.
I don't think I have seen roads and pavements so bad as they are at the moment. Potholes seem to be more frequent and much deeper than before but when you see them filled with just a shovel of cheap tarmac, what can we say!
Take care of yourself when you are out and about, Chris. And have a lovely Valentine's weekend.
That is so funny. Thankfully they do quite well with keeping the roads in good repair where I live.
Oh my, 40 days of rain? Those poor people.
Potholes are considered our state flower here in West Virginia. There are many showing up as the ice and snow melt.
Pothole season has started here in S.W. Ontario, Canada.
