It seems there are more people in the younger age bracket these days, that watch you tube rather than live television. Dh and I are license payers and watch BBC and value it. We've recently notice that often after a BBC programme, there is an announcement saying, ' this has come to you and paid by you.'
But I watch you tube videos that demonstrate how to do something mostly, and quilting is one of my favourites.
I love watching these quilting videos and I have made things from watching them, but not this one...but I'd like to.
Perhaps my next project!
Its very pretty!

There are some great resources on You Tube, it's my go to for most things, even films, I never watch TV, hubby is away Monday to Friday and in that time our TV stays off.
I was fascinated by this , thank you. When I saw the 'still' picture, I assumed they were decorated squares made into a quilt. Then as I watched the video, I realised they were plain squares, first assembled then embroidered. I have never considered doing it that way round before! I loved the interwoven tapes too. I really appreciate it when other bloggers share clips they have found helpful as it really sparks creativity in others. Thanks again
Quite a few years ago I wanted to teach myself how to tat. My grandmother had always done that when I was young and tried to teach me and I never could grasp the idea. I used YouTube for that and I found plenty of help. The quilt in that video is just beautiful.
I watch YouTube these days but some television too. It is easy to find things of interest on the tube.
I’m with you. I enjoy the BBC. We are currently a bit addicted to Traitors - as someone said “reality TV for the middle classes”.
Also really enjoying The Night Manager.
I don’t understand it when people say there is nothing on - if anything too much on!
That is really pretty. I do watch a lot of BBC and terrestrial television (I record all the channels with adverts), but I have to admit to watching more and more of YouTube in the evenings.
I know my kids don't have a TV or want one. Any watching they do is online. However, we are old-fashioned and still watch regular TV.
Quilting is my hobby.
That's a really cute purse but way too much hand work on it for me to finish. I am looking for a small quilted project like a purse so I watched the whole video. Structure and process would be the same. Thanks for sharing it.
There is quite a variety on You Tube so younger family members tell me :)
All the best Jan
You can find almost anything on utube. I still like the ABC for news and ivew streams programs you've missed. SBS is ad free and has some good doccos and excellent world news coverage.
I'm just now teaching myself to sew!! We don't have TV and watch YouTube all the time.
My sister and her daughter both do quilting and have made bed quilts for a lot of the family members. Sis listens out for clues on colours or interests and then gets going on one. We're all very grateful.
We don't pay for the ABC the national broadcaster, it gets all the good British dramas first and they're ad free. I'm a tennis fan, so its wall to wall tennis with the AO at the moment. The other slams are free to air if you don't mind staying up all night, except the US open and I wouldn't pay for that.
We don't watch a lot of TV, we just record the programmes we want to watch, we never flick channels to see what's on for the sake of watching. I enjoy YouTube, there's so much information on there, I like watching all the crafters.
We no longer have cable television in our home, and rely on Youtube for various things. People there are generous with their information for learning things. My husband is currently learning about beekeeping.
This was a facinating YouTube clip. I loved seeing the quilting and how the bag was made. I might even be inspired to give quilting a try this year.
