Its Winter!

A beautiful sunset after a very cold day, but no snow here, altho at 10 am when we went out to our car, it was completely frozen up. We couldn't even get the doors open with out a struggle.

I had an appointment for my weekly hair.. And then we didn't go to town for a coffee, it was too cold. Here a photo from the Porthcawl FB page showing snow on the hills behind Porthcawl.

I don't remember snow here when I was a child, but there is a photograph of me, somewhere. where I'm sitting in a pram on a beach with snow around the wheels!

And some very brave ladies at 7:45 am taking a cold water dip at Rest Bay...brrrrrr!

Not for me, what about you?

The scenery behind Porthcawl is beautiful. It's hard to imagine the car being frozen. After parking in sun it's too hot to put your hands on the steering wheel.

I don't think you could get me in that beautiful water when the air temperature is so cold. I'm having a hard time putting on my boots going out in the snow to feed the birds, lol.

I do not like to be cold, so I definitely wouldn't be joining the ladies for a dip.

Lovely photographs. I enjoy watching the sea at Porthcawl from the RNLI live-streaming Pier Cam. It was as still as a mill pond at high tide this morning, though it can be dramatic there in a storm.
A group of brave swimmers take a dip there regularly, and occasionally there are windsurfers. Please, what is the stone building on the pier above the boat ramp?

No way am I exposing my skin to the cold weather, let alone w the sea!

I suspect I’d have a heart attack if I took a dip like that! Brrr…brave women!

No thanks, I am very wary of the sea having almost drowned aged 4. It also puts me off seeing in the news how many people have drowned/got into difficulties at this time of year through cold water swimming. No snow here yet in our part of Derbyshire, but the sky is an interesting colour, as though there is loads up there. Xx

Not for me! My daughter went for a fell run in the Lake District yesterday and said that it was -15 with the wind chill up on the top of the fells. To me that sounds like torture, rather than fun.

What a beautiful sky.
No swimming in the cold for me, but I do walk in it. :)
