I don't know about you but my heart goes out to these poor people whose homes have been flooded. It seems we have had 40 days of rain. Rivers have burst their banks and the ground is water logged
First storm Gerrit and then Henk have pounded our land and they have caused havoc.
To see people with their belongings out on the roads because they damaged, its unbelievable.
But its not just people, homes and business who have been affected but farmers too. A hero sheep dog herded these sheep to some higher ground, but there have been many drowned and cows too.
But it will also affect our food supplies here, where planted crops have been washed away. The floods of 2023 won't be forgotten for a long time.
Have you been affected, we were fine, altho' there was a flood where the Meadow Lake spilled over onto the road, but no houses were near.

Our flooding here in Canada is so minor compared to other spots around the world.
I can't imagine coping with the aftermath of a flooded home. Strange weather seems to be everywhere.
Some people have been flooded out several times - that must be so depressing. Once is bad enough. Then there is a problem with insurance - how difficult and expensive it must be to get insurance. It's not a good start to the year for so many poor souls.
It's happening more and more now, the seasons are changing due to climate change, I'm sure we never used to have such frequent flooding when I was a child. It's devastating for those affected, my heart goes out to them.
Although the ground has been very sodden here, we have not had any flooding, which is a relief. It must be awful to have your house ruined along with all the hard work that has been put into making it a home. Then, not to be able to go back for several months must be devastating.
That sheepdog is a true hero for looking after those sheep and getting them to safety.
No major building works at the moment in our road although across the road had their drive done just before Christmas. It looks good with lots of enclosed gravel which will allow plenty of rainwater through.
