This week has been a roller coaster of misery for me.. once again I am struck down by a condition that now seems to be chronic and the only person who seems to care is me! I know I've seen Drs and had tablets but I'm still unwell. Did you know that A&E departments give out free tea, coffee and sandwiches and biscuits? Neither did I till my 6 1/2 wait on Monday afternoon!! I eventually saw a young Dr who asked me had I tried Cranberry juice?? I could have screamed.
It was a nightmare, he gave me some more antibiotics and they have relieved my symptoms, but here I am up in the middle of the night, because I can't sleep and I'm in and out of bed like a yoyo staggering the 17 steps to the toilet!
I think I'll have to see a Dr privately, I can't go on like this, I'm over tired and at my wits end.

Sorry Chris, I hope you get relief soon.
Oh I feel for you! Trying to get help from GP before symptoms get really bad is useless. I am 25 miles from nearest A and E. I have been taking D Mannose from Holland and Barrett for the last 6 months and all good so far. Hopefully anti biotics do their work and you recover quickly.
Oh Chris, I'm so sorry for you. Will be praying.
My aunt suffered constantly until she got a referral to a urologist who put her on a very low dose antibiotic which she has to take every day. On one follow-up visit a more junior doctor insisted that they weren't needed and took her off them. The symptoms came back instantly and the consultant was NOT amused when he saw her on her next visit. Perhaps your doctor could make a referral for you to your local hospital?
I feel for you. A potty under the bed might be more convenient than staggering up and down the steps. Free food and drink if you have to wait a long time at A & E, interesting. Perhaps homeless people could get indoors out of the cold, by inventing some life threatening symptoms. Sorry, don't meant to be flippant. I hope you find some respite from someone who is able to help.
Chris, I am so sorry to read this. You must feel absolutely miserable. I would say with the condition that you've put up with for a few years, that you do need a face-to-face with a real doctor. I don't know how difficult that is in your country but I hope you can make it happen. You are in my prayers.
Oh this does sound bad, I hope you can get some PROPER help soon. xx
I hope you're feeling better soon.
Oh my, Chris. I hear your frustration and exhaustion. The medical profession has a long way to go when it comes to women’s healthcare. I hope the antibiotic helps.
That's really miserable. My mum used to get recurrent infections too - really nasty and cranberry juice was as much use as a chocolate teapot. Hoping something can be sorted soon. xx
I am so sorry to read this ... thinking of you and hoping you will be able to see a Doctor that can help you.
All the best Jan
So sorry, sure hope you can find some relief.
I am so sorry, Chris! Lack of sleep is just debilitating.
So sorry to hear of your suffering. I hope you can get some help from a GP. There are tablets that help.
I also had problems with recurrent bladder infections a few years ago, and as I also live in South Africa I just phoned the urologist, privat medical insurance, he gave me low dosage antibiotic which did the trick. Urologist said he found it worked well with the women he treated. Good luck
