I am loving Race Across the World this year again. Although some people complain there are too many sob stories I think its those that make it the interesting programme it is.
Fin and Sioned a Welsh couple are doing well, altho she felt over whelmed with the crowds and noise in China. Their openness makes one realise, its ok if you don't have everything worked out, no matter what your age. you can get through it and thrive.
I love Caroline and Tom, mother and son, she age 61 has thrown herself into it and disclosed to him that her only value she felt was, if she was useful at home. Taking part has shown her that she had strengths she didn't know she had. I 'd like these to win!
The sisters Elizabeth 33 and Letitia 26 are so serious, but have opened up that they have only ever had a surface relationship. They obviously care a lot about each other, but there is a lot left unsaid.
Brian 62 and Mervyn 65 spent a great deal of their childhood apart in a not too happy a home. It made it all the more emotional when they had their first photograph together in years and vowed to go on more holidays together.
The emotional parts of the show are thought inspiring, and the show wouldn't have the same impact for me without them. Its not a travel programme, its a show of lives and relationships and I love it.

I've never seen this show but from your description it sounds interesting. At lot of those reality shows are only as good as the stories of the people taking part and if you can find common ground with them to relate to.
It is quite a whirlwind for participants and spectators.
We have a show called The Amazing Race which sounds the same. I find it interesting but sure couldn't do it!
I enjoy the show but agree with those who have said the show this year is more about sob stories and less about the travel and racing. It makes me wonder what we are not seeing.
I think I could be in RATW and have travelled quite a bit in those countries - travelling independently in the days before mobile phones.
The mother and son are my least favourite couple and I am a bit fed up of her whining privilege. She doesn’t know how many more summers she might have? At the age of 61 unless she has an undisclosed life shortening illness that is a ridiculous statement. the young couple or the brothers would get my vote…though I expect it to be whiny Elizabeth.
The personal stories always add another layer of interest for sure.
Haven't even heard of the show but then we don't have TV.
I've not heard of that show. Touching backstories.
I've not watched it but it does seem a popular show.
I do like your header photograph a lovely view of the beach/sea and wonderful colours.
All the best Jan
My husband watches it, I've only seen a couple of episodes. Funny but my daughter said last week she thought hubby and I would be good at it as he's good at navigating and i'm good with budgeting, but we would probably end up killing each other spending all that time together 🤣
I don't watch this programme but from what you have said, they sound like some interesting couples.
It seems like so many shows turn into soap operas, at least to me. I would enjoybseeing the places the people go in this race, but the stories wouldn't interest me too much. So often we find out later that the stories of contestants or participants are hyped up for the emotional impact.
