I still have a useless arm but still trying to do crafty work.

I have had my hospital appointment to check how my arm is after the 3 months ultra-sound treatment and my bone still hasn't healed! I am very down about it. I will now have to have surgery, which I am not looking forward to, in fact I am terrified of going in and having a general aesthetic. The date has been fixed on March 10th; while it's nice to have a date, it is another 6 weeks to have this useless arm. So I am full of dread.. but I am keeping myself busy. I should be trying to lose weight, but my resolve seems to have gone out of the window, so not good.
Anyone any tips how to get back on the slimming wagon???
But look what I've done and while my hands are busy they can't put food in my mouth!!LOL
These mitred squares have grown, but I then wondered what would I do with them? I am going to knit some now and then,  as they are nice to do and I like them!

And I have done some stitching too, so this is growing but only slowly.......
....... because I started this knitted shawl in this beautiful variegated pastel coloured yarn.
It's to wear in bed over my shoulders when I am reading!
Yes I am old enough to want some sort of shawl/ jacket in bed!!

There are some wonderful signs that spring is on its way, so isn't that wonderful!
Happy days

Chris, sorry to hear that your arm is not mending and you will have to have an op. I hope that sorts everything out and you will be back and crafting before too long. It is hard to get motivated to lose weight, especially if you are feeling down, been there, done that, so many times but back in March last year I knew I had to do something about my weight so I rejoined Slimming World and this time it has really worked for me and I am 4 st 4.5 lbs lighter. I am not sure why it has workedthis time but it might be worth giving it another go evenif it hasn't been successful before, xx

Good morning Chris,I feel very sorry that you have to have surgery, but I'm more sorry that your poor arm has not healed naturally and I know how scared you must feel, but we're all thinking of you.As for losing weight,I went to a slimming club but it wasn't me having to listen to everyone moaning and lying about what they haven't eaten but not lost any weight,to me it was a joke!!!!.I have heart problems and with not behaving myself and thinking I know best I have put on a lot of weight,I decided to do it my way,,,and I am losing my weight, all I have done is to cut down on my portion size and I use a smaller dinner plate, this I can stick too, also I have a glass of water with my meal,I find I don't need to snack if I do this,I know it takes time and some patience and it isn't easy but I am seeing results, enough to make me more determined to Cary on,I hope this may help you a little as I do know what it's like to not have that feeling of wellbeing through a weight problem.I wish you well in your surgery, and send a big hug, keep your chin up.xUna.xxx

Goodness! You and your poor arm! Sorry to hear it's not healing and that now you have to have surgery. I wish you luck with that and I hope everything goes well and you will be on the mend very soon :)
I see you are keeping busy!! Lovely squares, not sure what you can do with them? Maybe put them all together to make a little lap throw? Lovely colours though.
And Oooh stitching too! Such a colourful pretty design it looks like too.
You made me chuckle saying you were old enough to wear your shawl in bed! Ha ha good for you! I love the colours... In fact everything your doing is just so pretty!!
Big smiles :)

Sorry to read about your ongoing health trouble.
It doesn't sound like fun to go for surgery but imagine, after everything will be sorted!
Love your Tralala stitching :)

So sorry to hear that your arm is still causing problems and that you have to get surgery. Try not to worry about it if you can manage, I know that is much easier for me to say. Love all your crafting, you have been very productive even with your sore arm. Well Done.

I am sorry the surgery date is so far off. You are doing so well at getting crafts made anyhow. Good for you! I find that if I brush my teeth, I am far less likely to snack.

You have been busy making beautiful things, keep making the squares, suddenly you will find you have enough to make a blanket.
Hope the 6 weeks passed quickly and without too much pain.

Lovely things you've bern making Chris, the shawl looks lovely.
Sad news about your arm, blessings to you for the surgery and a quick recovery afterwards.

So sorry to hear that you have to have surgery, but I hope that it does the trick and that you are soon all mended! Take care of yourself and let others take care of you too. Let us know how you get on. Hugs and all good thoughts! xx

Do you have a date for the surgery? It's too bad they didn't pin it before, but I guess they always try everything else before resorting to surgery. I'm sure it will be fine afterwards and you'll be feeding yourself and whipping off craft work at much faster speed. Best of luck and keep us informed.
