I am still here

Just a short hello to say I am still here struggling with my broken arm! I have a hospital appointment next Tuesday and I am hoping that I will have this brace off. It will be 15 weeks.. The last few weeks I have tried to do more but as my hand is very swollen it is impossible to do much. No further stitching as I can't hold the needle with my swollen fingers.
Still I have enjoyed watching the tennis, although it would have been even better if Andy had won!
I have looked at some beautiful blogs, so many talented women who display their work wonderfully and take superb photos. I can't wait to be back to stitching, sewing, knitting and crocheting.. in fact I have looked longingly at so many quilting sites and yarn sites, which have given me some super ideas, can't wait!!

And of course if I hadn't had my DH I wouldn't have coped. He has patiently helped me dress, listened to my moans and encouraged me when I have cried in frustration and taken me off for picnics and walks to help with my 'fedupness' of being in the house and unable to do the simplest of things.
He has cooked, done the housework, although I can do the dusting and tidying, it takes me ages. He has washed the clothes, done the ironing and gardened.
I can never thank him enough.
He has been an absolute love!
xx

Oh, I am so sorry that you're still struggling with your arm. My husband had shoulder surgery last February and still has some problems with mobility. His therapist said to just take it slow, what healed fast at 25 takes a little longer at 55! LOL

You got a keeper with your husband! I had to laugh...when my husband was off with his arm, I still worked full time. So after the first 8 weeks, HE did most of the housework while I was at work. I told him that it was hard letting him go back to work, I was getting used to having a "houseman"! LOL

Oh Chris! I sent you an email earlier but now have just caught up on your blogs about your broken arm. I'm so sorry you've been going through this. Here I am moaning about my silly ankle and you've been suffering along without your right arm! It is amazing, isn't it, how much we take our bodies for granted when we are well but it doesn't take much to see that all parts are so important to a happy life. Will you go through any rehab once the bone is considered properly set? Do take care and I'm back on the blogs starting this week so hope to see you comment - even with just your "lefty." Sending hugs and kisses!

So sorry that it is so slow-going. But these things just need time. But I can fully and thoroughly understand your frustration and I hope that next time when you go and see your doctor it will be over with the brace. And that you can go back to all your usual doings. Your husband is a real keeper.

I've just found your blog and have been reading about your adventures with a broken arm ..... oh how I sympathise, I broke my right wrist 3 years ago and it was such a nightmare. It was v painful and I couldn't believe how exhausted I was all the time. I'm right handed so couldn't write etc, even doing my teeth was hard work. I showered with it held above my head wrapped in a plastic bag. Couldnt do up my bra. Cooking for the kids was horrendous. I found its impossible to peel a carrot one handed lol. I relied on friends for lifts to the supermarket as obviously I Coukdnt drive, and meals had to be one-handed. No buttering of toast lol. Anyway just wanted to let you know you have piles if sympathy from me. Hope it is a lot better soon xx
