Blogs

Why do some people write a blog and why do some people who don't blog, read them and even leave comments or don't? I have been approached by some one who reads my blog, doesn't blog nor leaves a comment. She might even be reading this?

Everyone has a reason; a diary; a point of view; venting about life; or teaching a life skill; or ??

I write mine, just because its a sort of life experience record and I take enjoyment in sharing and I love reading others. I did find it upsetting,  that some people could no longer access my blog and it might be their anti-virus has an ad blocker, because I was being bombarded with an anti-virus firm, even though we already have one. I wasn't the only one being targeted by it,  when we looked on line there were hundreds of people asking how to get rid of it. Dh eventually sorted it out and it stopped.

But those people never came back to read my blog and I'm slowly losing my inquisitiveness to read theirs. I do read blogs and not always comment, probably because we don't have anything in common, but I like reading their blog! Also I've stopped following some blogs if their writing is blasphemous or they use swear words and some have left what I think is a 'I'm superior to you comment. on mine!' Is that their vanity or mine??

Very sad when a blogger dies and sad too when their partner dies, I really feel for them. But also sad when someone decides to stop blogging like Rhonda. I have  followed her blog for years and have already missed her.

I've made so many friends on line through my blog and l hope to keep reading about them and making new. Why do you blog?

I started blogging when I was due for my 16th and last child, eighteen years ago now. It's always been a tightrope of writing about MY life, without exposing them too much. What is my story to tell, and what is invading someone else's privacy? I'm super glad I did write for all these years, I do wish I had written a journal in earlier years. I enjoy reading blogs, from people around the world, in different circumstances. I like connecting with people through blogs, years ago I didn't consider online friends "real" friends, but now I know better:).

Some write to record life, some to teach, some just for connection. I like how you recognize both the joy and the frustrations of blogging technical issues, tone differences, and even people leaving. At the heart, it’s about sharing experiences and finding a community, which is exactly why so many of us keep at it.

I was musing on this very topic a few days ago... something for a future post, I think.

A started blogging so my family and friends could read what my days were like because we didn't live close. They didn't read it but I kept writing it and other people started reading mine, and I theirs and it has just become part of my life now. Blog friends are special and I'm happy to say I've met a few in person.
I also don't read blogs with cursing and I don't like to read political blogs.

I know I don't always comment on yours and other blogs. If I have something to say I will. I've debated quitting several times but find if I take a break that helps too.

Blogging has become for me a modern kind of "pen friends'. Did you ever have pen friends? I agree there are some I read without commenting and some I follow because their opinions are so diametrically ipposed to my own view of the world - and I seldom comment on those (not interested in arguing. I just want to keep my mind open to the fact that the world is diverse and I'm not necessarily right in what I believe or support.)

I enjoy finding the blogs that are somewhere around the world. You all have something to share in your life and surroundings. I blog for no good reason, lol, except I enjoy seeing the comments of so many.

I'm always intrigued by people who come to my blog and comment but don't blog themselves. I've also had people come to me and say they read my blog and I don't know them. :)
I blog because it's kind of a diary, but also because of the many wonderful people I've met - like you!

I started blogging to share my cross stitch, there were so many cross stitch blogs back then, sadly many cross stitchers have since stopped blogging. I still like to read and see what everyone is making, although I don't know of too many of them now. My blog has changed over the years, now i share a bit of everything and it's a record for me as much as anything else. I couldn't access your blog for a while, it was while we were with sky, so obviously something to do with that because since we changed provider everything has been ok. I love to read about other peoples lives, some are very different to me but I like to read them all the same, also you do pick up some good tips from some. Over time less people seem to read my blog, and I don't get as many comments either, I don't know if that's because of the content and they are not interested or what but I still like to record what's happening in my part of the world.

I started blogging to keep a record of family history while I still remember it. I wrote the stories of some family members and friends who have since died. Then I changed to writing about nature and life here on the island. I like to write is the truth of it. Blogging is a great outlet for self expression and a great way to meet people from all over the world.

I've been blogging since 2001 or 2002...I'm too lazy to look it up. At different times in my blogging history I've kept a blog for different reasons. At first to share caregiver stories and tips on a stroke support site. Then as a widow and now I blog about life living in a continuum care facility.

I'd always had penpals before blogging and was a part of round-robin letter chains so blogging feels like a high tech way to do make those kinds of personal connections with others. I've always been a diary keeper since I was a kid so there's that aspect of blogging, too, to preserve what goes on in my life and inside my head.

I get why some people don't keep a blog but enjoy reading them. Not everyone is good at writing or good sharing details about themselves but that doesn't stop them from being curious about other people. I feel that people who read my blog know me much better than people I see every day in person. It's easier to share feeling and observation in cyber space than to bear your soul to friends family who could misunderstand or judge you to your face.

I started blogging to share my art, crafts gardening and sewing. Probably because that's what I enjoyed seeing on other people's blogs. They gave me inspiration and I wanted to be an inspiration for others as well.
Through blogging I've made a few very close friends, some that I've met in person and some that I never will. When my husband became ill I had blogging sisters all over the world praying for us and when I told him about ones that were praying and what they commented about it touched his heart in such a way that it brought tears to his eyes. My big tall strong husband who rarely ever cried , cried at the thought of people all over the world praying for him. It was a blessing indeed and after he passed away it was very hard for me to blog for a while, but I kept reading other people's blogs and then realized that I have friends out there and I didn't want to lose them or lose communication with them. I found blogging to enrich my life in many ways and they helped me deal with my grief.
I agree with you if someone is using blasphemy language, filthy language or using their blog to put others down, I personally would stop following them in an instant. The media can be used for good and for bad. I choose to keep mine positive and those are the ones I enjoy following.
I hope this answered your question and may I say "happy blogging" 🥰
