I've come to realise I'm getting old!! I have all the signs!
I wear a vest in the colder months.
I go to bed and lie awake.
I like the heating on high.
I hate getting wet, so avoid rain at all costs.
I prefer being home for high days and holidays.
I don't like children running around in shops.
I don't like crying babies in cafes.
I like my cup of tea made just so!
My pillow has to be crease free.
I like my hair tidy rather than fussy. ( I'm still training my hair dresser)
I don't like the after effects of chili.
I have to clean my teeth after eating fish.
I talk about my aches and pains.
I take a lot of tablets.
But.... I'm enjoying some of the things that come with age.
I'm happy to pop to town for nothing more than a cup of coffee in my favourite cafe.
I'm very happy with a roast dinner on Sundays, then a nanny nap.
I love a quiet morning stroll around my garden.
I delight in seeing newly sown seeds germinating.
I love to see new buds on the trees.
I recognize different bird songs, that early morning Black bird's song is clear as a bell.
I can read all day if I wish.
And most of all, I can chose what I want to do or not do, the time I rise and the time I go to bed, its all my own choice.
What do you think, aging with joy or moans?

We should always try to age with joy, so many people don't have the privilege. I always think there are positives to look for in virtually all situations. I love your lists, they are very similar to mine. 😀
I cringe when I see people bring the whole fam into a cafe. Babies Always cry and children become restless and run amok. Same in libraries, there is a thriving noisy creche in my local library. Women stream in with prams so it's become more a child minding centre than a library. They spill over into the bookshelves (too young to read) and I have to try not to trip them up when they run down the aisles.
I look around at the younger generation and all the commotion, and I'm grateful to be older and retired.
Accept yourself at whatever age.
I agree with most of this! I must be getting old too. But I don't mind the crying babies, or children running around unless they are really misbehaving. I have yet to read all day or take nanny naps, but I am several years behind you, Chris!
For me, joy and moans. Stopping to smell the roses while finding it difficult to get going again.
I'm trying to welcome the changes with joy, but sometimes moans sneak in, too.
I think that is a list that most of us can relate to one way or another. However, I find each day is different.
No matter our age let's make every day as joyful as possible.
All the best Jan
Every age comes with good and bad. I'm thankful for each new day God gives me and just try to enjoy each one. :)
