Would you be ready?

Wind up radio.

Survival flint and steel to start a fire

 Portable solar battery.

Compass.

First Aid Kit, plus pain killer tabs and your own prescription tabs.

Bottled water +++

Tinned food plus several tin openers.

Dried food stuffs, like rice pasta and flour, yeast and packet foods, that have a heating element

Water proof clothing and extra warm clothing.

And?? Who knows??  And would we have these things to hand or should we be buying them now?

Just a few people scaremongering on the internet, if there was to be WW3.

Personally I'd rather stay in my home and go out with a bang!

Reading these has reminded me of the Nevil Shute book, 'On the Beach' When there had been a nuclear war and the last surviving people in Australia, were waiting for the fallout to reach there and die, altho they had been given pills to end their lives..Did that book shock me as to what might happen in my life time? Not at all, I had never even considered that it could happen, ever!

But the way that Trump talks, his unfiltered words, he could talk us into a war every time he opens his mouth. He seems to think he can talk Russia into peace, if only Ukraine will cede the land already occupied to Russia! And why should Ukraine give it up, its their land.. and if they don't Russia has implied that the Europeans including UK will be next.

Would you be ready?

Believe me I do not understand why the Ukraine needs to give up one inch of their country. And I do not understand why my president is like this. However the things you mentioned that we need in the way of supplies, most of the US needs it today because the blizzard is beyond words.

For a minute I thought you were talking about the reality show Survivor! I loved Neville Shute's books. A Town Like Alice is a classic, made into a film with Peter Finch and Virginia McKenna, also a wartime story of survival for women and children. Re Trump don't we all wish he'd put a sock in it. Every time he opens his mouth you want to close your ears!

To Lynn and Precious come downunder, the heat was so bad at the Aus open tennis the players couldn't play and the roofs had to be closed.

If it comes, it comes and we shall deal with it as we have always done.

Agree with jabblog. We are pretty much always prepared, not because we are peppers but because it just became our say of life back when it was much more primitive and very difficult to get in and out of here. And because of power outages, which are much less now
Trump--he is an embarrassment to us and a real threat to the world. The man is mad, and our government is spineless. If I could leave here, I would.

Canada is under threat from “he who shall not be named.” I can’t believe so many voted for that criminal!

Seems to me the end is coming soon and we believers will be raptured away. :)

I find myself agreeing with what jabblog has written.

All the best Jan

You won't be here to deal with anything, wiped out by nuclear war.

We are having quite a snowstorm here but thankfully have not lost power. We've gotten a foot of snow and will get a foot more before morning. I won't comment about our president, he isn't always presidential, but I don't have hatred towards him. I do agree with HappyK, we need to lift our vision, there is so much corruption here on earth!

No, I would only be mildly prepared, but with matches rather than a flint.
There have been preppers ramping up their message to stockpile and prepare, but really there would not be much point if Russia and America decide to both launch. I have been working on the periphery of the nuclear industry for long enough to know there is not much we can do in the even of nuclear warfare.

I do have some of those items but I wouldn't say I was ready in that sense. I shall take each day as it comes until my time on earth is done.
