I'd say there is none so blind as those who will not see. It sounds to me like plausible deniability. But then I'm not a fan of politicians!
I was wondering about this... but she was very very busy, and if he was plausible enough, then sure, it's possible.
I'd know immediately as it's me who keeps a tally on our accounts, haha. Only people who have more money than they know what to do with would have no regard as to where the money to pay for these items was coming from.
This is exactly what I said to my partner! She must have noticed, unless he was storing it in a warehouse!

What wife wouldn't ask where the money had come from? I find it completely unbelievable that she didn't know. Then again, he probably lied and we know that Nicola believes that a man who puts on a dress instantly becomes a woman, so she probably just believed everything he told her :)

Make-up and manicure sets from high end expensive brands.....what man buys make-up for his wife? Perfume yes, but I find it hard to believe he ordered the beauty stuff all by himself. How did it go on for so long without her noticing?
I would definitely have raised questions about the motorhome, but all the other things could have slipped in quiet logically over time and been described as 'bargains' when queried. Don't forget how busy she was for such a long time leading the party, and in a state of grief for a long time after her miscarriage.

Even if the workload was very busy, and probably away from home a lot, surely she would notice a motor home in the drive!!
I've now read that both of them are allegedly gay, and theirs was a marriage of convenience, something which apparently was widely known in Scotland for around 15 years. If that is indeed the case, then possibly they lived largely separate lives. In which case then maybe she didn't know after all - or didn't care.
It does sound suspicious and quite hard to believe.
