Hasn't it been blazing hot!! And my week was compounded by my covid booster jab and the RSV jab, which is for protection against chest infections. I was dreading going, but although getting into our very hot car, as on the drive it was facing the sun, once we were going the air conditioning kicked in and it was blissfully cool. The drive to Basil-end hospital takes about 15 to 20mins, all of 7 miles because of course here in Wales, the speed limit around towns is only 20 mph. Yes, very slow, but we're used to it now.
Amazingly we didn't have to wait and inside, it was cool. The needle didn't hurt, but as she dabbed the spot on my 'bad' arm I very much felt it and inadvertently gave out arggg sound. Its an automatic response, as it is very tender feeling. I don't ever have injections in it and wish I'd asked for my thigh instead.
It was awful and Wednesday I felt ill, my arms ached and I had aching joints and a head ache. And my 'broken' arm was hell, I felt ill. I was even off my food. Dh made his version of SW zingy chicken.my favourite and I hardly ate any, although some ice cream slipped down!
So what with the heat and the reaction to the jabs I hardly slept. But by Thursday I was feeling a bit better, but didn't go out and missed the Mahjong group in the afternoon.
I was fine after a good sleep and Friday we went to the SW meeting and lost 1.5 pounds!
So hopefully that's my jabs for a while. I know they are for my protection, but when I have a reaction, I'm not happy!!
Do you have a reaction to the covid jab?

I always react to the covid vaccinations... I feel really seedy and breathless for a couple of days but them it's pretty much over.
Hey! You lost over a pound! So at least the week ended well!
I am very thankful for cars with air conditioning. As a child, hot cars were the norm in summer, and how hot they were! My mother used to lay towels down on the seats before we got in so as not to burn our legs which were usually bare, in shorts or skirts. And we would roll the windows down and let the hot air fly around the car, finally feeling some relief when we sped up. But then how noisy it was!
My reactions to the Covid vaccine have been so strong, with some lasting effects, that after three of them I no longer get them.
It's been cool here where I live.
I've never gotten a covid vaccination and don't plan on ever having one.
Like Lorrie I am so thankful to have air conditioning in my car ...
You lost weight ... that's a win :)
All the best Jan
I had a reaction to my first covid jab but ok since. I remember getting an ivite for the RSV jab but can't remember if I went for it! I will have to ask the receptionist to check my records. I'm glad you're feeling better 😊
I had both together like that but only experienced a very sore arm for a day. Sorry you had your reaction but you should be well protected now.
Thankfully we didn't have any reaction to these jabs when we had them a few weeks ago other than sore arms for 48 hours. The original covid jab caused Alan to have a really serious thrombosis in his leg, and he has been prone to them since. He's now on blood thinners for life.
Oh I'm sorry you didn't feel well. Congrats on the weight loss
I regretfully took the first two Covid shots and had a terrible reaction to the second one. Unlike any reaction I've ever had to any vaccine. I will never ever take another Covid shot or any vaccine for that matter.
I hate to admit, but I havent had either since 2021. And never had the RSV one. I hate getting shots! But as I get older, I guess I need to woman up and take the needles. Ugh.
I only ever had one Covid jab and I felt under pressure to have that and regretted it, never had another one. I had to go to the drs with virtigo, never had it before and was told it was most likley the covid jab that had caused it, i said then i would never have another and the doctor said 'I don't blame you'. Which makes you wonder. With all the info out there now concerning these vaccines and the things they have caused i'm surprised people still have them. But we must make our own minds up on these things. Glad you are feeling better now at least
Sorry to hear about your bad reaction. I've been lucky and never had a reaction to any jabs.
