I have a fan on me most of the time. we don't sit out in the garden. Our patio is SW facing and temps get to 30C as the slabs are white and they reflect the sun! Our plants in pots sizzle and we water them every day, we're on a meter but we've never paid as much if we paid pro-rata our Council Tax, but Dwr Cymru has increased their charges to supply our water by 50%. We'll keep watering unless we're asked not to. We used to have hose pipe bans in Essex, but we did water the pots with a watering can, and watched the grass go to straw every year, But it all greened up in the Autumn.
The one benefit to me to have warm weather, my arthritis isn't as bad, but I have to be careful to keep drinking water otherwise I get a UTI.. We usually have a cold drink mid afternoon instead of tea, I have a 'Mimms' a mock Pimms.. a glass of lemonade ( sugar free) 1 tsp Balsamic vinegar, and sliced fruit and a sprig of mint. Its really tasty and I love it.

The Mimms sounds good. I never sit in the sun, always in the shade. If it's very hot, I sit next to a fan!
It finally got steamy steamy hot here the last 2 weeks and is to now continue on for the rest of the summer. Had a terrible storm last night but thankfully the worst of it was over by the time it got here. Your drink sounds tasty. Watch the short PBS TV show about Wales last night. Such a beautiful country and so many sheep. I'm sure that the short show did not do it justice.
A lot of places in north India is experiencing high temperatures. But luckily in the south we are having the monsoon, and it's raining. Here in Bengaluru, it has been mostly cloudy and just today we are having some sunshine.

Yorkshire is officially in drought, but there is currently no hosepipe ban. I don't understand why, since it is only common sense that if we are short of water people ought to be encouraged not to use it willy-nilly. I don't think that washing cars, power-washing driveways/decking or watering lawns for hours on end is essential.
I'm in my 80s and have never lived in a place where there was a water ban. Knock on wood...the climate is changing. Hope your drought is short-lived.
Hi, I am new to your blog and may I say it is great. Just tried your recipe for a Mimms but used Pomegranate Molasses and (proper lemonade as the taste of sweeteners is too hefty) will try the balsamic version tomorrow, absolutely wonderful so thank you for the recipe, just what is needed as we are sweltering in the Midlands - furthest point inland from the sea in the whole of England!!! It’s been ridiculously hot here in South Devon, today, but this year, due to a very wet autumn, our reservoirs are, apparently, in a healthy position! So no hosepipe ban this summer! The Mimms sounds wonderful! 😁
In hot weather it's even more important to stay hydrated.

Complete opposite weather here by me. More rain and cool temperatures. So far this year haven't had to water anything!!!
