We shouldn't, but we buy books all the time, I say shouldn't because we buy because we like to, rather than we don't have anything to read. But isn't that like all people who love to read.
These are the Richard and Judy choices for their Book Club for Spring 2025. We bought all last years and I've 4 still to read, Dh still has about 8 I think. He's reading, ' We All Live Here' by Jojo Moyles at the moment and must be enjoying it, as he keeps bursting out in laughter! I swapped it for 'The Women' as we'd read that and we liked some of Jojo Moyes other books, especially 'The Giver of Stars.' Have you read it, its about the women who took books to women in the wilds of America, on horseback in the 1880s A lovely story of resilience and love, worth a read,I've just finished our Library Book Group book 'The Cabin' by Jorn Lier Horst.. a detective story,,, but not my choice. I read it because it was the Group book, otherwise I'd have given up on it, a lot of words with very little story!
Can't wait to read the Tim Weaver book in this Spring group of books, but I'm being good and reading the ones left from last Autumn's books first, but it is very tempting.
I just love reading! Kindle or books it doesn't matter to me. Young people walk around with their phones, I always have a book or kindle with me, incase I have to wait somewhere!

I bought a Susie dent book as a Christmas gift for someone on the family. I must ask if I can borrow it (I didn't have time to read it before I wrapped it!!) I rarely buy new books, unless they are heavily discounted.
You can never have too many books, lol. I'm only away for the week but bought three with me and have already purchased another two whilst here 😂
I'm still reading the one I started before I arrived but have listened to two audio books while I've been walking.
I love reading too. I am part of a small local bookclub. I joined so that I would read different books and expand my reading, as I tended to stick to old classics. I've never read JoJo Moyes's books, I'll keep an eye out.
It's always good to have something convenient to read or listen to.
I bring a book too. Long waits don’t bother me!
There's another book excellent book about the packhorse librarians called, "The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek" by Kim Richardson. I highly recommend it.
M weakness is the 99p kindle deals... the email pops into my inbox and I'm lost. Actually I'm quite pleased when I can delete it without buying any of them!
I love JoJo Moyles books but hadn't heard of "We all Live Here." Can't wait to track it down now. Thanks for writing about it.
I've never been part of a book club but I still enjoy a good book. I need to find more time to enjoy this pleasure.
I enjoy reading books ... some I buy others, I get out from the local library.
All the best Jan
We have a wonderful library in my small town so I just get books from there now. Used to have way too many books and had no more room so only saved the books I LOVE. I'm in a book club that meets once a month. Don't always like the books that are chosen and don't read them. But many times a book is picked that I'd wouldn't have picked and it turns out to be fantastic.
I started two book groups at libraries, back in my librarian days. They forced me to read novels, which was good because when I finished my library degree I was so burned out on reading I didn't want to read anything! Both of those groups are still thriving, over 20 years later.
I enjoy reading but sometimes don't read books for a few months at a time. Life just gets too busy! Like now, when I am outside almost all day every day.
You are very good reading a book you’re not really enjoying. One of my book group ladies says we should read all the books but at my age I just can’t continue with something that isn’t giving me joy! I like the sound of The Giver of Stars. I like my Kindle but I also like a book with a nice bookmark in it so that I can see my progress.
I love to read but I don't manage very many books per month. Mainly because I only read for a short time before I go to sleep at night. I always seem to be too busy during the day. Those books look interesting.
