Isn't this lovely? Its just round the corner from us, so its the post box we use.
The crocheted topper was there before the anniversary of VE day and is now battling against the weather.
We are having gusts of wind and the rain which we badly needed..
But the 'Topper' is braving it all and it looks amazing. How lovely that someone has crocheted this.. thank you to who ever has done it.
Have any of you have one near to where you live?

It's beautiful. We don't have those here in the US.
ReplyDeleteI have never seen anything like that where I live in the US. How fun. Have you seen other things like that in your neighborhood?
ReplyDeleteThat is so clever and thoughtful!
ReplyDeleteThe post boxes around us regularly have lovely k fitted toppers on them. Brightens the day.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty, and brings a smile to all who see it.
ReplyDeleteThey are so pretty and I'm glad when you folks over there post pictures for me over here to see. Since I crochet I admire the work that's put into him.
ReplyDeleteIt is interesting to see the different coloured poppies. I'm not sure I'm aware of what they all symbolise. As far as I can tell, the British legion acknowledges red, white (peace union) black (afro Caribbean) and purple (animals)
ReplyDeleteThat's a lovely topper. They have appeared here over the last few months on two nearby post boxes, they move between the two and then I assume further on when a new one appears on the nearest box:)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely remembrance!
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy seeing these toppers.
ReplyDeleteOur local topper features bees ... I really ought to take a photograph of it :)
All the best Jan
That is very nice and took some time to crochet. The mail boxes here are a different shape so that would not work on ours.
ReplyDeleteThose crochet post box toppers are very cheerful. There is one on the post box inside our local Tesco and there used to be one that was changed quite regularly near my grandaughters school. Lots of work goes into them.
ReplyDeleteWindy and rainy here too, the gardens needs it though.
We don't have toppers on our mailboxes but I enjoy seeing them on people's blog posts. This is the first one for quite a while.
ReplyDeleteThat is a pretty post box topper. Unfortunately we don't have any here currently, as the last few times they were displayed, they were taken by someone.
