Dame Esther Rantzen

 


Announced this evening the death of Esther Rantzen, She fought for assisted dying, but it never got passed by Parliament.
We loved her in her TV programme, That's Life and from it came the introduction of Child Line in 1986.
An amazing person who wanted the best for everyone.

    She was someone who truly radiated compassion, common sense and fun. I am sure her and Dolly Parton will have a lot to talk about in the hereafter.

    She was truly an amazing person, fighting for rights of all kinds for most of her life. The programme That's Life was a major part of my childhood and young adulthood, and as well as serious considerations, it introduced the very talented Victoria Wood to the world.
