In Training?

It was lovely to see Prince George with his mother, Catherine Princess of Wales at the Royal Albert Hall Remembrance Day Service.

Is this the royals gently introducing him to the duties that will be expected of him as a future King?
All three children have a close relationship with their parents and it is well known in school holidays,  the children's needs come first with both their mother and father.

Like a lot of the general public I do like to see the Royal Children, always dressed beautifully, altho we've seen a certain Sheep design cardigan passed down to the younger children, just as in the ordinary families! And Charlotte wearing the same coat on several occasions.

  1. I can't see anything wrong with getting wear out of a garment - if it looks nice why not keep wearing it. What happens to the clothes that only get worn once...

  2. I think the royals have always done this, with children attending as many of the functions and events as they possibly can. They do always look beautifully turned out don't they, and yet somehow still with dashes of their personalities shining through.

  3. I love seeing hand-me-downs. Given that they are 'superior' quality, one would expect them to last and last.
It's an interesting thought - what happens to all those lovely garments when they are no longer needed? xx

  4. Pleased to be able to access your blog on my PC, after a brief hiatus when it seemed to be barred. Yes, hand-me downs are a good thing. I knitted a picture sweater for Grandson #1, Grandson #2 has just grown out of it, and now it has gone to my niece's little boy. Someone recently told me that although the royal children are always smartly dressed for public occasions, they wear 'ordinary' jeans and jumpers when 'off duty' so they are not particularly noticeable if they want to visit shops etc. [I assume their 'close protection officers' wear appropriate gear too!]

  5. I've been impressed with how William and Kate are raising the kids. They seem to be trying to give them as normal a childhood as possible.

  6. Like Mari .. I too have been impressed with how William and Kate are raising their children. They have to balance the need for as normal as childhood as possible with that of being royal.

    All the best Jan

  7. They seem to be a lovely family, caring and supporting each other. Balancing a royal life and a 'normal' life must be hard but they seem to have got the balance right. I remember having allsorts of hand me downs as a child and not just clothes either. I did the same thing for my own children.
