Then and now

When we moved here 3 1/2 years ago.

And now

We have 3 flower beds and now small trees and shrubs in front of the fence we've had put in, after taking out the 30m  of scrappy hedge!
Lots of plants waiting to go in the prepared beds and seeds sown already. I'm expecting  a very colourful summer.
Its been worth the work over the last week getting it straight..     And no rain has meant we've watered most evenings.
How's your garden?

  2. You've done lots of work and it looks so nice!
We were still getting snow yesterday, so our garden is just waiting!
PS - I just finished reading 'Our Holiday' by Louise Candlish. I'm pretty sure it was you who recommended it. If it was you thanks! I really enjoyed it!

  3. You too have made such a dramatic difference in that yard. Now it's actually a secret garden. How lovely. It's still too cold here for anything but a few daffodils blooming and some crocus. I do have my annual seeds planted inside and they have sprouted. But another 6 weeks of waiting. Looking forward to your photos.

  4. It certainly was a (green) blank canvas before! You've both worked hard, well done.

  7. Your garden looks so lovely, a testament to all your hard work. Ours is beginning to look like a garden, its our first year here and was a blank canvas of a badly kept lawn, patio, some gabion walls and fences. We've had some raised beds built which I'm filling up, put trellis's up for climbers and made a pond in a pot. The lawn looks awful, but we are getting there. Xx

  8. My garden looked like yours when we got here - though there was a bed of elderly Lavender and some shrubs on the bank. Like you, I have wrought changes! Yours looks absolutely lovely.

  12. Hard work definitely pays off. Looks like you employed the ‘smarter not harder’ approach. Especially attaching railings to your deck

  14. Beautiful! Yes, your work shows. I wish my husband took an interest he just thinks it's too much work.
My veggie garden is at a standstill right now, but the flowerbeds look pretty good. Like you, I have plants just waiting to go in.
