The answer was NO......

.....when I asked could I have the brace off! My little face showed my disappointment and it was hard not to burst into tears.
But the Dr explained that while I was still experiencing pain, it hadn't healed sufficiently to go without the brace.
He has suggested some ultrasound treatment as I have already been 15 weeks, however as it is a costly treatment his dept. has to request funding!
We were there nearly three hours, but as  I had  requested to attend a hospital near to where we live, we didn't have to drive to Colchester but attended at Basildon. So we did do a little bit of shopping in Basildon.
And I bought Harper Lee's new book, and also her one other book
'To Kill A Mockingbird.'
Like most people I have seen the film and I saw a stage version which was amazing.
I needed to re-read it, and I am loving it all over again.

I can't wait to start reading this new book written it seems before 'To Kill A Mockingbird.'
Although all the reviews suggest that Atticus, now in his seventies is racist;
I can only think of him as the upright, quiet man who strove to give his children Jem and Scout a view of life that was honest and fair and who treated the black people with respect. Will I change my mind?
When I am reading this is who I see............
Ahhhhh...... didn't he play the part right into our hearts??

Thank you for all your kind comments, I will try to do some stitching again this coming week and it is my 7th blogaversary this month so as soon as I am able I will be doing a give-away

Ah the gorgeous Gregory Peck, he was certainly a heart stealer.

What bad news about your arm. I hope you can remain cheerful and that it will eventually heal completely. Lovely that your husband is such a help. I can tell he's more use than my half deaf three quarters blind elderly mother. It's in times of illness and incapacity that my single status is a nuisance!! have never read either of those books but I hope you enjoy.

I am excited to read the new book too, I always found Harper Lee's life story pretty interesting. I was surprised by her decision to publish this new book.

I am sorry you have to struggle with the brace for a while longer. Hopefully you will be able to do without it before long. It is several years since I ready To Kill A Mockingbird, think I need to re-read and then buy the new book. xx

Get well soon. To Kill a Mockingbird is such a classic! Hmm, now I'm having second thoughts if I should get the new book, hah. Though I read the first as a highschooler, the sweet memory is such that I may not want to see him in a different light, lol. And yes, they do movie versions way better then than today:)

I am so sorry you're going through this with your arm. Where exactly is it broken? I've been getting ultrasound and electrodes for my ankle and I think it's really helped it to heal faster. It's been 10 weeks since I went over on my ankle again and at least I can walk a bit. I cannot go barefoot because it's not strong enough to hold me so it's awful in the heat...but whenever I'm going to be sitting down for a walk, off go the shoes and socks! I've read SO many books since my accident so it's good that I enjoy that but I do miss taking Tegan out for her walks and playing Frisbee with her! One leg or one arm - we need both of them to fully function! Be patient as I am trying (often unsuccessfully) to be. Thinking of you!

Oh dear, this is so annoying & I feel for you sweetie.
I guess as we get older, the bones take longer to heal sadly.
Just enjoy your reading & take it easy.
I hope the funding will be provided so that you could get the treatment, it would help speeding things a bit. x

Hello Chris!
You are a sweet lady to become a new follower of mine, I am so tickled!
I love "To Kill A Mockingbird"! Here's the thing...Harper Lee only wrote one book. Her publishers told her they wanted to publish the book from the viewpoint of the young girl, Scout. The rest of the book was put aside. It is the part that was put aside, that had been in a drawer somewhere in Monroeville, Alabama that has recently been published. Some say that Harper Lee, now in her 80's might have been coerced to publish it. Don't know myself. I have a friend who lives in Washington D.C. and he didn't care for the book. (the Watchman book) Since I value his opinion, I doubt I will read it.

This must have been such a disappointment for you. I hope that it won't take too long now until the brace is taken off.
